Blind rivets are a type of mechanical fastener used to join two pieces of material before being deformed to create the fastening. First, they are inserted into a hole that has been drilled through both pieces of material that need to be joined. Then, the rivet is deformed at the back end (usually by a rivet gun), which causes the rivet to expand and secure the two pieces of material together.
Blind Rivet
Blind rivets are similar to break stem rivets, where the stem that protrudes from the back of the joint is broken off after the rivet is installed.
