A galvanized lag screw or lag bolt is a fastener for heavy-duty fastening applications, such as attaching large beams or timber together. It has a hexagonal head and a course threaded pattern. Galvanized Lag Screw
Galvanized lag screws have a layer of zinc, brought about by dipping the lag screws into a bath of molten zinc at high temperatures. The process creates a chemical reaction and forms a protective zinc coating on the surface of the screws. The result is a corrosion-resistant and durable lag screw which can be used in outdoor environments or areas with exposure to moisture.
