Self-drilling anchors are specialized anchoring systems primarily used in construction and geotechnical applications. They have a hollow steel bar with a sacrificial drill bit at one end, allowing simultaneous drilling and anchoring in various soil and rock conditions.
Self Drilling Anchor
The anchor is drilled into the ground with the sacrificial drill bit, creating the hole. Once the self-drilling anchor reaches the desired depth, a grout mixture is injected through the hollow bar to fill the space around the anchor, providing stabilization.
Self-drilling anchors are often used to stabilize and maintain the integrity of slopes to prevent landslides. They are also used to underpin and reinforce foundations where the soil is unstable. They combine drilling and grouting, reducing installation time and labor costs. They also provide quick support in unstable ground conditions— ideal for emergency repairs and construction in challenging environments.
